Franchise leads Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are confirmed to reprise their roles in the upcoming Hunger Games series film, Sunrise on the Reaping.
Reports indicate that fan-favorite actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the next chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Production is currently underway.
A Major Comeback for the Franchise
The duo are slated to play Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the roles they originated. It is believed their roles will take the form of a brief glimpse ahead, considering the main film series concluded with their characters settled into family life.
This signifies the sixth installment in the highly successful Hunger Games franchise.
The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a 2025 novel by author Suzanne Collins. It serves as the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. For this project is Francis Lawrence, who directed the majority of the previous films in the series.
A New Era in Panem
The film's story are set 24 years before the first Hunger Games, focusing on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, destined to become Katniss's mentor, is featured as a tribute in the brutal 50th Hunger Games.
The cast also includes several notable actors in key parts:

- Ralph Fiennes takes on the part of a earlier incarnation of the calculating President Snow.
