Reigning Aryna Sabalenka Claims Consecutive WTA Player of the Year Accolades.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second successive season.
The 27-year-old won four titles β the highest tally on the circuit β including successfully defending the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles title.
A Season of High Performance
Throughout the year, Sabalenka played in a tour-best nine championship matches, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The star player also triumphed at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the whole season as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.
In July, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.
Record-Breaking Achievements
Sabalenka ended the season with a 63-12 win-loss record, and picked up a historic eleven million pounds in tournament winnings.
She earned almost 80% of the votes submitted by international tennis media.
Later this month, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "raise women's tennis to a greater prominence".
