Two Individuals Charged for Jail Killing of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder in the wake of the death in prison of former Lostprophets singer and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) stand indicted for homicide and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per investigating officers.

Watkins, forty-eight, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after confessing to numerous sex crimes including the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were seized.
